Crane Technician

Location: Pompano, FL | Panama City, FL | Orlando, FL | Savannah, GA.


Job Description
Trouble shoot cranes, grow sales in the area, work and repair cranes and hoists. The candidate should have an electrical/mechanical aptitude at a minimum. Experience in the overhead crane industry, experience with motor controls, and welding experience are pluses.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
As a Crane Technician, you will take the lead as you:

  • Perform skilled tasks in the repair of and maintenance of hoists, cranes, and other material handling equipment
  • Troubleshoot AC/DC motor controls-magnetic and variable frequency drives
  • Run conduit
  • Pull wires and make terminations
  • Address, mediate, and resolve customer concerns, complaints, and issues
  • Interact regularly with customers
  • Acquires uses and continuously develops personal technical and professional knowledge of products and general managerial skills to assist customers and other company personnel
  • Perform skilled tasks in the repair and maintenance of hoists and cranes
  • Apply technical expertise in determining work methods and procedures
  • Complete maintenance requirements as scheduled for our customers
  • Maintaining tools and machinery in good working order
  • Troubleshoot sources of problems by observing mechanical equipment in operation at job sites
  • Replace defective parts and adjusting equipment
  • Control downtime by performing routine maintenance and instructing workers on the proper operation of equipment at customer job sites
  • Use machine shop instrumentation and equipment to fabricate, repair parts, and maintaining equipment parts and supply inventories

Education/Background

  • A high school diploma is preferred, but not required
  • A combination of experience and training that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities is required
  • Must demonstrate the ability to work in mechanically-oriented situations following instructions of a supervisor
  • General knowledge of various types of equipment and the ability to work with little or no supervision is required
  • Knowledge of electrical, hydraulic, hoist and crane equipment.

Qualifications

  • Candidate must have electrical, hydraulic, and electric motor knowledge
  • Job duties require candidates to be technically and mechanically inclined
  • Must be able to work in small confined spaces as well as work on equipment that requires the ability to withstand heights

Testing

    Lead Installer

    Job Description:

    • Ability to read and comprehend blue prints, work at heights and confined spaces. 
    • Willing to get CDL license
    • Experience in installation of steel beams
    • Continuous welding/fabrication experience required
    • Knowledge in fabrication to consist of but not limited to construction equipment, structural steel, trailers to complex fabrication
    • Experience with cutting, fitting, and various fabrication skills are required
    • Perform skilled tasks in the repair of metal surfaces for the purpose of ensuring safe and efficient use of items
    • Apply technical expertise in determining work methods and procedures
    • Install various items for the purpose of completing projects safely and within established time frames
    • Maintaining shop, tools, vehicle and machinery in good working order
    • Maintains welds on various items using a variety of processes for the purpose of ensuring the availability and functioning of required items ensuring safety
    • Control downtime by performing routine maintenance and instructing workers on the proper operation of equipment at customer job sites
    • Use machine shop instrumentation and equipment to fabricate, repair parts, and maintaining equipment parts and supply inventories
